MACMILLAN Cancer Support asks you to go alcohol-free for the month of October, to raise funds to help Macmillan Cancer Sup- port be there for people living with cancer. Your fundraising doesn’t just help others, it helps you too.

Since the launch of Sober October in 2014, Macmillan Soberheroes has raised over £33million to give people living with cancer in the UK physical, financial, and emotional support. This has helped fund Macmillan nurses, information and support centres, the Macmillan support line, financial support for people living with cancer, and campaigns to make people more aware of cancer prevention and treatment.
How could fundraising help?
● £54 helps the welfare advisers deal with a financial enquiry
● £109 funds 8 weeks of emotional support to someone living with cancer
● £237 pays for a Macmillan nurse for one day
Macmillan nurses are specialist cancer nurses who can help you to understand your cancer diagnosis and treatment options, and support you on your journey.
The Macmillan Cancer Support Line offers confidential support to people living with cancer and their loved ones. If you need to talk, they’ll listen. 0808 808 0000 every day, 8am-8pm or chat online.
The Macmillan online community is an confidential network of people affected by cancer which is free to join. Share experiences, ask questions, and talk to people who understand.
